How Taekwon-do has
helped my children

Taekwon-do offers our
children a number of life skills and experience. Skills that will help
them through life and experiences they will treasure. Teague our oldest
boy (9) has been doing Taekwon-do for four years and is currently at
Blue Belt level. In those four years Teague has gained self-discipline,
which has led to self-confidence and a belief in himself. The repetitive
nature of Taekwon-do has taught Teague the value of practice and he now
drives for perfection in Taekwon-do and other sports. Taekwon-do has
also offered Teague a chance to socialise with people of all ages. Again
this increases his confidence when dealing with people, a skill a lot of
people struggle with today particularly with the advent of email where
face to face communication can be avoided. This year Teague has been
joined by his six year old twin brothers Reeded and Lane who are
currently learning their first pattern. Again we have seen increasing
confidence, concentration and co-ordination. As a result we have seen
improvements in the same areas at school. Lastly Taekwon-do has taught
our kids one more valuable lesson. That lesson is respect. The way
Taekwon-do is organised teaches the kids that there is a pecking order
and by moving up that order you will gain respect, but in the meantime
you must show respect for those who came before you and have achieved
more. This attitude is directly transferable to life.

Taekwondo International
2007 USA Seminar

The three-day seminar was a great experience for
all who attended. Instructors, school owners and students had the
opportunity to meet and interact with the senior leadership of
Taekwon-Do International both in formal settings and against the
back-drop of Las Vegas. The 4th Annual Conference in 2008 will again
be held in Las Vegas USA in late April.
